How do you get the personalized characters to be part of the illustrations?
Well, at Tumblestar Studios, the company that makes
the Patchwork Robot books, we use advanced 3D computer rendering (drawing) techniques. This allows the
character to be seamlessly and fully integrated into the
illustration (for example: appear in front of and behind other
objects, have proper shadows and reflections). We think that's
pretty cool :)
On top of that, we can 'draw' the child's name right
into the illustration and incorporate other fun elements such as a favourite color and shape!
We render each illustration at a very high resolution to guarantee a top-notch
print quality on paper.
